Participation in University Management
Overview
Equal Opportunities Officers appear in every matter that concerns female members of the university. (§ 72 HSG LSA)
This participation looks like:
- Participation in boards
- Participation in selection procedures (especially staffing and appeals)
- Participation in development of arrangements and controling and equality surveys for MLU and Saxony-Anhalt
- Admissioning and proposing topics, problems and ideas
- Initation and implemention of arrangements
- Counseling and companionship for equality avtivities
- Counseling for other equality transactions (genderconsulting): meetings, applications, building meassures
- Sensitization talks and events
Participation in Boards
Equal Opportunities Officers appear in every matter that concerns female members of the university. (§ 72 HSG LSA )
One of their core tasks is therefore participation in boards and commissions of their particular areas. They work for consideration of equality and introduce equalty relevant questions, problems and ideas.
The following tables show boards and commissions of MLU in which Equal Opportunities Officers are part of. Besides they also work in boards and commissions of the faculties.
Equal opportunitoes Officers have the right to vote in every board and commission which are based upon the rules of procedure of the senate. In other commissions they work advisory.

Participation in Staffing and Appeal Proceedings
Equal Equality Officers involved especially in coming personnel meassures.
Therefore on eof the main tasks of them is the company of Appeals and staffing procedures.

Staffing
The Guideline for Staffing Procedures prescribes the keeping of equal condotions for women and men and the implementation of the goals of women promotion. Equal Opportunities Officers influence actively the choice of apllicants and there staffing because they are members of the staffing commission. They work together with the staff council of MLU.

Appeals
Equal Opportunities Officers influence at many points the appealing of professorships: as entitled to vote member in faculty council, appeal commission, appeal test commission and senate. Ideally they give advise when it comes to the creation of application documents for the position. They should company the whole procedure and give a statement about it which is part of the appeal documents and base of the work by appeal commission. Berufungsprüfungskommission ist.

Promotion of Gender in Teaching and Research
Equal Opportunities Officers promote inclusion of gender studies in scientific work at universities. (§ 72 HSG LSA )

Particular activities of the Equal Opportunities Officers focus on:
- Collection of Lectures at MLU: Präventionsstelle (focus on discrimination and diversity), gender*bildet (focus on gender)
- Collection of research projects at MLU: Präventionsstelle (focus on discrimination and diversity), GenderCampus (focus on gender)
- Collection of courses of studies: gender*bildet
- Collection of conferences and calls: CEWS
- Collection of ressources (material and networks): gender*bildet
- Involvement in "Landesweiten Tag der Genderforschung Sachsen-Anhalt " and the following junior conference
- (Mediation of) counseilng and support for consideration of gender aspects in research and teaching
- Initiation, counseling and support with further activities
Besides the consideration of gender aspects in research and teaching, Equal Opportunities Officers stand for gender sensitive (further) education.
