  • The Equal Opportunity Officers of MLU join the worldwide expressions of solidarity for the largely feminist protests in Iran.
The Federal Conference of Women's and Equal Opportunity Officers at Universities (bukof), of which MLU's Equal Opportunity Officers are members, has published the following statement   :
On September 16, 2022, Jina (Mahsa) Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman of Kurdish descent, died as a result of severe police violence.
The bukof stands in solidarity with the feminist protests against the authoritarian regime in Iran and joins the voices of Iranian feminists and activists in the struggle for the right to self-determination. Iranian universities are also central places of protest. Here, too, the police are using violence against demonstrators. Among other things, there were violent clashes at the Sharif University in Tehran.
We agree with the worldwide voiced demand: Self-determination rights are human rights and not negotiable!
