Women in MINT, Men in CARE

The goal of gender equality is representative gender relations in all areas - including subject areas. However, role attributions and stereotypes still characterise the choice of subject and profession on the one hand, as well as assessments and selection decisions on the other. As a result, there are subject areas and occupational fields with an unbalanced gender ratio (vertical segregation) - a self-perpetuating effect, as areas dominated by one gender represent a further barrier to entry for underrepresented genders.
